Art Journal Page – Hidden

Full art journal page - Hidden

Hello again TCW friends…

I hope everyone has been enjoying the holidays and has welcomed in the New Year with a bang!!

Today I am going to share a journal page using stencil TCW829 – Heartful Flower in both sizes and TCW5005 – Swiss Dots

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

Of course, as usual, If you enjoy seeing a page come together quickly, you can just go ahead and watch the process video below. Captions within the video will tell you what products I have used along the way.

…here is how the page came together…

1 – randomly paint yellow and orange onto the journal page

2 – Using a permanent spray (Marabu acrylic spray) spray red onto TCW829 – Heartful Flowers (12×12 size) designed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer.

I use the stencil as a stamp directly onto the page. A towel helps to minimise bleed when pressing the stencil down

3 – Once dry, the same thing was done with black onto the small size of the stencil TCW829 – Heartful Flowers.

You can probably tell from some of my previous projects that I really love to play around with this idea of big and small repetitions on the one page.

I actually choose three locations for the small stencil to be stamped (see following photo)

4 – Some edge dots in red and turquoise using TCW5005 – Swiss Dots (I do use this stencil a lot!)

5 – Sketch out an illustration of a girl and then I go about drawing and painting her in

partial page with figure unpainted showing TCW829 Hearful flower

6 – Write in the quote with pen and pencil

“Life has its own HIDDEN forces which you can only discover by living” – Soren Kierkegaard

I do hope you have enjoyed this walk through of my page and the video. Hopefully it gives you some inspiration to create your own page using TCW829 – Heartful Flower by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer

Until next time… have fun!
