Junk Journal Cards

Hello TCW friends! Here we are again!! Lovely to be with you!

two stencilled journal cards
two journal cards – using TCW5019 Waves & TCW855 Linked Tiles

Today, I am giving you a glimpse into a recent junk journal that I created and I’ll show you through the process of making some journaling cards to place within the pages.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own

I will let you know up front, that this project is definitely going to be easier to follow, if you watch the video… so here it is!

Without going totally step by step, I will explain briefly what the process was with each card.

Card 1 – Black gesso background, stenciling with acrylic paint and TCW9010 Silver Gesso using TCW5019 Waves, TCW5005 Swiss Dot & TCW5008 Random Dot. I then went over this background with black and seperately with light pink using TCW855 Linked tiles – this is a great pattern and is now a new favourite!!

The final step was to add a strip of gold washi, a butterfly and some words

Card 2 – This card starts with a rainbow of stenciling using TCW5019 Waves to cover the background and then some hand lettering over the top. Now, I am no great expert at hand lettering…. so be kind! 🙂 – Gold washi tape finishes off the card at both top and bottom edges.

Card 3 – This card is on the reverse of the rainbow card and is just a random mixed media journal excercise. I start with an unplanned background in pink, black and red, I stencil in light pink using TCW855 Linked Tiles over the top of the background, toward the corners. I then use my white and black pens to doodle and make marks across the page. Some hearts in purple, some journal scribbling and some word stickers finish the page off.

Card 4 – This is on the reverse of card #1. This card simply has a black gesso background with stenciling in blues through TCW862 Maidenhair Fern and in lemon through TCW5008 Random Dots. It has space for a later quote, or journaling to the right hand side.

Finally, I show you my little junk journal, whilst I put the cards into their places within. You also get a glimpse towards the end of the video of my stenciled ribbon, which uses all the same stencils along with TCW832 Script Words

Hope you have enjoyed this little craft-a-long with me and it has peaked some inspiration to begin something new!

Have a great day!
