I love to make scenes on cards. But sometimes, I just don’t have the time or desire to stamp, mask and color full panels, or small panels, or really at all. But with the help of stencils, it doesn’t have to be hard or take a lot of time! The Crafter’s Workshop has a ton of stencils that work so well for this technique, so be sure to watch the tutorial below for all the details!

For my cards today, I’m using two new stencils, Cypress Tree and Sunflower Meadows. These two stencils are perfect for creating scenes, but these aren’t the only two stencils that work for this technique! As a matter of fact, TCW released several just this past month! Creating these scenes is super easy! I used ink blending for my cards, but you could easily add in paints, modeling pastes, etc. I just like ink, because there isn’t any real dry time! But because I’m using the same medium, I needed to use different methods of applying the ink to make the stenciled area stand out.
In order to do that, I used a mixture of different ink application methods. For the backgrounds I used a larger blending brush and a light hand to lightly apply the ink. But through the stencil I used smaller detail brushes, ink daubers, and fantastic toools to apply the ink a little heavier to help it stand out!
