This is Ujjwal and I am so excited to share my project with you today. I have been in love with the TCW big rustic stencils and have been planning to create something with them for long and I finally did. I love how simple this project is and still packs a punch. I also documented the entire process and have a photo tutorial for you to understand how the canvas developed from the beginning. The supplies used are also listed at the end of this post in case you want to check them out.

Here is the step by step instruction to make one on your own.
I started with a piece of plyboard I had left over from some construction work we did in our home recently. But you could get a piece cut to the size of your liking from a hardware store.
I painted the board with TCW9002 Black Gesso to achieve a chalky finish. You could also use TCW9015 Black Licorice Heavy Body Paint for this step and go with a glossy finish instead.
Next, I add a bit of TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Paint and TCW9022 Grape Jelly Heavy Body Paint for a night sky look. It’s hard to see in the photo but it’s there.
Once the paint was dry, I stenciled “Dream BIG” using TCW2189 Dream Big stencil, TCW9005 Modeling Paste, and a palette knife.
Once the stenciling was dry, I used another stencil called TCW5004 Star Shower and TCW9012 Shimmery Goodness to add some shimmering stars to the night sky.
And then, once it was all dry, I wrapped some twine around both the sides so I can hang it. The twine also adds a beautiful rustic touch to the whole piece.
And that’s it! A beautiful home decor piece is ready. I will be hanging this in my workplace but this would be good for a kids room or just any part of the house.
