Christmas Card and Tag

Merry Christmas TCW lovers!!!! Farrel here again today to share with you a mixed media Christmas card and tag I created using the same snowflake stencil. For those who know me, I am not a card maker but thought it might be nice for me do something a little different.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I will start my tutorial off with the card. I used a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inch card as the base and applied my Emboss It Dabber to TCW720 Snowflakes 6×6 stencil. Then used white embossing powder to cover the whole area and heat set with my heat gun.

Then I sprayed 13arts Ayeeda Mist Chalk light blue and Lindy’s Stamp Gang Starburst Delphinium Turquoise spray all over the card.

Next I used a separate piece of cardstock and applied TCW9049 Tacky When Dry Gel Medium through TCW717 Ornaments 6×6 stencil. I used my heat gun to make the drying process faster then rubbed some mixed media transfer foil over the top.

I then cut out the ornaments and used foam tape to mount them onto the card. I also adhered some ribbon to the top and used a sticker for my sentiment. To finish off the card, I used Couture Creations Glitzin’ Glamour in Antique Silver.

Now for the tag, I used a precut tag in white and smooshed Distress Inks Broken China and Stormy Sky all over the tag. Then did the same again but with Distress Oxides Ink Weathered Wood.

Once the inks had dried, I then used  TCW720 Snowflakes 6×6 stencil and applied TCW9026 Champagne Gold modeling paste. I used my heat gun to dry the paste, letting it bubble a little.

I used some stamps, snowflake punches, glitter and rhinestones to add some texture. To colour the stamped image, I used the Distress Inks Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood to make a grey/green colour and applied with an aqua pen.

I hope this has inspired you to create something special for Christmas. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and will be back to share another project with you all soon xx

  1. These are so beautiful – I saved them to my Pinterest boards so I could always come back here and see your technique. I’m going to try this with a non-Xmas theme today. Thanks for the beauty and inspiration.
