My Heart String

Welcome back to the most awesome inspirational art blog on the internet 🙂

I am Jeanine (My Arty Heart) and I am excited to be back today to share this cute hanging heart garland with you all.  I made this one for my art room in my favorite colors.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

To start off, I had these hearts cut at a local store, these are from bamboo wood.

If you cant find something like this, don’t worry, just cut out some hearts from cardboard.

I gave them a coat of TCW White Gesso, let it dry, and gave it a second coat.

Now for the fun part, finger painting.  Yes, finger painting with my favorite colors.  It looks a bit blotchy, but don’t worry, when we do the next step, it all melts away.

Next I will stencil, using the same colors.  I used TCW809 Ocean Window and TCW807 Script Dot.

Now I am stamping the words “LOVE” with archival ink on some tissue paper that I will use to glue on the hearts.

I use TCW Gel Medium Gloss to adhere the words with.

Adding some bling bling shine, because life is to short to be boring or one dimensional.  Pebeo studio acrylics have a great iridescent color shine to them.

I love to embellish my projects with this washi tape for Ide-ology (Chatter).  It adds interest and texture to the background.

As a final touch, I am adding two small wooden hearts to each heart, covered in TCW White Gesso .  I also add some splatters with the gesso just to round it off.

All that is left is to hang them.  I added some clear and purple crystal beads to a hot pink ribbon string.    Love the outcome of this, and looks so pretty in my art space.

See you all next time.
