I’m Framing a Sunflower

Picking a sunflower from a garden and putting it in a frame is impossible but not if you have the Joyful Sunflower stencil!!! Today I’m going to show you how I create this framed painting.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

To start my painting I added paint onto a piece of 11″x14″ mixed media paper. While it was wet I used a corrugated card on the paint to create texture to the background.

I started by adding small sunflowers to the background.

As you can see I used acrylic paint in blues and yellows. I love creating flowers in unexpected colors. Next I added the larger Sunflower stencil (12″x12″) in Pink!

I continued by adding parts of the large sunflower in two positions on the paper to finish the painting. To add the shading behind the petals, I added the Sunflowers in a darker shade of pink first and then I turned the stencil and added the lighter shade on top of it.

It’s such a joyful and fun painting that I couldn’t resist putting in a frame to hang it on the wall.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. You can see all the New Stencils and Mixed Media Metallic Modeling Pastes on Scrapbook.com.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
