Hello TCW Fans!! I hope you are all well and have been loving all the sneak peaks of the new winter range. I know I can’t wait to get playing with them all.
So I was thinking of what I could create for my post and realized it has been quite a while since I created a scrapbooking layout. So I have created this masculine layout using some of my all time favourite TCW products.
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I started by brushing a thin layer of TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium Clear onto my main patterned paper and used a heat tool to dry. Using another patterned sheet of paper, I stenciled using TCW737 Love Sonnet and Colour Blast Australia Pastes – Steel, Dusty Charcoal and Stormy Weather. I then used my heat tool to set the pastes.
Once the pastes are dry, I then tore 3 sections of the paper and inked around the edges using a blending tool and Distress Oxides Ink Black Soot. Then adhered to my background paper. Next I rubbed some TCW9001 White Gesso around my photo using my finger and set aside to dry. Once dried I then created a photo mount using some tags and left over pieces of paper.
I then added some stamping using archival black ink. Once I was happy with where I had placed the stamps, I then sprayed some Color Bloom Spray – Cobalt and some was water onto my stamping block and applied to my layout using a paintbrush.
Next I sprayed some Lindy’s Stamp Gang Midnight Rendezvous Raven spray directly onto where my Love Sonnet stenciled area is and used a small amount of water to help move the spray around. Next I adhered my photo mount to the layout using foam mounting tape.
I felt I need to add a little more grunge to the layout so I used TCW248 Cubist in the 6×6 along with TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint. I used a make sponge and only used part of the stencil in the areas that would surround the photo mount.
Now for the chipboard, I painted TCW9015 Black Licorice Heavy Body Acrylic Paint on all 4 pieces of chipboard with a paint brush. Once dry, I then applied TCW9023 Blue Jellybean and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic paint together to create a blue that matched the one in the photo. I used a make up sponge and using a dabbing motion applied the paint. Then glued on to the layout.
To finish off the layout I sprayed water onto the left over paints and using a paint brush I added splatters …. Here are some close ups.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. I can’t wait to share with you all my next creation using the new stencils!!!
