Merry Christmas Art Journal Page by Farrel Tailor

Hello and Happy Monday!!! Today I am sharing an art journal page I created using some very yummy TCW products. If you would like to see how I created this art journal page, there is a process video at the end of the blog.

main

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I had so much fun creating this and got to use products from our preferred partners Thermoweb that I would have never thought of using. I have now found a new addiction!!! lol  So let’s get started!!!

background

I started by brushing Distress Oxide Inks – Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean & Broken China directly onto my pages in a swiping motion. Then sprayed with some water. I then added some Black Soot using the same technique and again spritz with some water.

Next I sprayed Distress Stain Spray – Faded Jeans all over the pages and used my heat tool to dry.

splatter

Next I placed some TCW9012 Shimmery Goodness onto my craft mat and added some water so that I could splatter the background using a small paint brush.

big wreath

Once that was dry, I then used TCW721 Big Wreath stencil along with TCW9024 Kale Smoothie Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and Dylusions Paints Dirty Martini and Fresh Lime for my leaves.

light and fluffy

Next I used TCW717s Ornaments stencil (my favourite Christmas stencil by the way) with TCW9004 Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste. I used this paste because I wanted to add dimension to my page for the step.

deco foil adhesive

After I dried the paste with my heat tool, I then used iCraft Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive on sections of my baubles. You need to allow this to dry for about an hour. I did however use my heat tool to speed the process up a little.

foil

I have found a new obsession here…..Transfer Foil!!! I have never used this before and by gosh it is AMAZING!!!! So I used Thermoweb Rebekah Meier Mixed Media Transfer Foils in New Penny, Antique Pearl, Patina and Old Gold. I also used Thermoweb Gina K Designs Fancy Foil – Turquoise Sea

modeling paste

Next I used the TCW719s Christmas Tree with TCW9009 Black Modeling Paste to stencil Merry Christmas onto my page. I also used a Uni Chalk Marker in white to draw the string for my baubles.

distress crayon

I wanted to add a little bit more to my baubles so here I am using some Distress Crayons – Tarnished Brass, Antiqued Bronze and Brushed Pewter and I’m just using my finger to rub it in. I have also used Dina Wakley’s Scribble Sticks – Black to add some shadowing around my baubles and blended it with a wet paint brush.

The last step I decided to add some sparkle to my leaves so I painted some Kindy Glitz – Crystalina. I used a paint brush because I only wanted a light sparkle.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoy the video!!!
