Hello TCW fans!!! I’m back today to share with you all a mixed media layout I created using one of my favourite stencils from the new 2017 Summer range….TCW744 Wanderlust.
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
I started my layout with the dabbing technique using a piece of old plastic packaging, water and Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Broken China. I used my heat gun to dry the inks in between each colour.
Once I was happy with the background of my layout, I then used TCW744 Wanderlust with Dylusions Black Marble spray. I did use washi tape to tape off the areas I didn’t want the spray to come through. I then decided that the colour wasn’t as bold as what I had expected so I used a make up sponge to apply TCW9015 Black Licorice Heavy Body Paint….much better!!!
The next step I used TCW9008 Clear Modeling Paste and mixed a small amount of Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker – Bavarian Blue to create my own paste to put through the 6×6 Wanderlust stencil. I used the small one as I didn’t want the title of my layout to be too big as my photo was trimmed down.
I then set my layout aside to dry and started to work on my chipboard. I covered my chipboard using a make up sponge and TCW9003 Gold Gesso. I then used a paint brush to water down TCW 9001 White Gesso and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Paint and splattered onto my chipboard. I used my heat gun to dry and then cut into 2 pieces using scissors.
I used TCW 9001 White Gesso to brush around my photo very lightly using my index finger and then once it was dry I used iCraft Mixed Media Adhesive to adhere my chipboard pieces and cheese cloth and photo to my layout.
To finish it off I then splattered some Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber using a little bit of water a small paint brush.
