Spread Your Wings

Positivity, TCW687, Kim Schofield, Mixed Media CanvasHello, dear friends! Kim here with you today for my last Crafters Workshop design team post. It’s been an amazing year creating with TCW products, and I have really enjoyed my time on this incredibly talented team. The new group will be arriving soon and I know that they are going to blow you away with their beautiful art! A HUGE thanks to our DT Manager, Cheryl, and all of the TCW crew for all of the hard work that they do and the generous way they supply their team with oodles of stencils and mixed media products. It’s been a wonderful ride!

Today’s project features the Positivity stencil, which is one of my favs because it includes a variety of designs that can be used alone or together, as I did on my canvas. During my video, link below, I’ll walk you through my creative process and will also demonstrate a glazing technique that I love! (Learned from Donna Downey)

I also used some Prima products on this canvas and the metal pieces combined with the TCW gel medium creates a dimensional canvas with holding power. Those metals pieces aren’t going anywhere! I also used the gel medium to hold the chunky glass glitter onto the canvas.

Distress Oxide Inks (my newest obsession) provided all the color on my butterflies and text circles, as well as the tag that houses my Finnabair head and wings. This was a relatively quick project to put together, but I was so pleased with the results. The background texture and design from the stencil makes all the difference! I hope you enjoy, be sure to check out the video below, and happy crafting!
