Hello crafty friends! Kim here with you today sharing an art journal spread that is a little outside of my normal design style, but this project is filled with lots of product and experimentation, which makes it so much fun to share!
This was inspired by silhouette stamps, which are some of my favorite to create cards with. I thought I’d like to try to translate the idea of a painted background with a silhouette image that I used a stencil to create instead of stamps. What’s interesting is that this stencil is actually an outline stencil so I had to find a way to fill in the images and then create highlights to make them stand out from the background. On the right side of the page, you can see how I filled in some areas and left the tree outlines, for example, in other areas. This created a nice mix of designs.
I also incorporated a bunch of the TCW acrylic paints (they’re dreamy!) in the background and used the Shimmery Goodness to add some shimmery snow to the bottom of the page.
And see all that texture in the gold paint? Ohhh…that was super fun to create using still wet paint and a heat tool. I created a video for you to share the details of how I create this spread along with some of the fun tips and tricks I tried along the way.
I hope you find some inspiration through the video and my project! Thank you!
