Hi Everyone!
There are many times I finish a canvas and love it but then I change my mind. I just grab either white or black gesso and start from scratch.
The original canvas I used a new stencil called TCW656 Winged Mosaic. It’s a beautiful stencil and reminds me of stained glass.
Here is my original canvas. I used watercolors to create this 6″ round canvas.
To transform this canvas I used white gesso over the Winged Mosaic. I let it dry before I started adding more color. When I added the color I used various shades of blue and white acrylic paint. I tried to paint it so it looks like a big wave.
Next, I added TCW Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste through the water part of the TCW674 Dolphin stencil (12×12). To paint the waves I wait for the modeling paste to dry, then spray it with water and tap it will a brush full of high flow acrylics. If you don’t have high flow acrylics you can add water to your paint. When you add paint to the Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste it spreads through it. I continued to do the same technique on the rest of the waves.
Here is a close up:
Doesn’t it look like a huge wave? I love this canvas.
