It is fall here in the US and I wanted to bring some of those beautiful colors inside to use as a decorative touch in my new house! This fall leaves paper garland is the perfect little extra element.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.

I started off by finding a few 12×12 stencils that included leaf designs. I used Chica Doodle, Postcard, Herbarium and Curious Owl. I then randomly stenciled the different leaf patterns onto heavy white cardstock with acrylic paint and a makeup sponge.

To capture all the fall colors, I stenciled four sheets in different colors for variety.

Then came the LONG task of cutting out all of the leaves! A couple podcasts later plus a cramped hand, I had a lovely pile of color to work with!

Some of the leaves naturally had vein marks from the stencils I used. However, most of them didn’t. So I remedied that with my favorite white gel pen.

To create the garland, I hot glued the paper leaves to a piece of ribbon. I started in the middle using only the large leaves first and then added in all of the smaller leaves to fill in the blanks. TIP: I used very little glue on just the ends of the leaves so that they could curl up slightly to create a bit of dimension.

I plan to use the garland flat on my coffee table but you could certainly hang it over a window or vertically on your front door!
