Fairy Garden Slate...perfect for your garden! Created using stencils from The Crafter's Workshop • AtopSerenityHill.com #slate #gardendecor #stencilI started off with three stencils: the 6×6 Mumsy; the 6×6 Many Faces; & the Leafy Branch Bits. The face was stenciled with black acrylic paint and a cosmetic sponge, and came out great. I used DecoArt Media Misters with the other two stencils and got entirely too heavy handed with the amount of spray! As you can see above, the bleed under the stencils made the design hard to see. Learn from me…a light touch is always better!

A note about my surface: this was a heart shaped slate my mom found in her stash from years ago. It was already basecoated with a mix of tan and white acrylic paint. It was definitely time to use it!

Fairy Garden Slate...perfect for your garden! Created using stencils from The Crafter's Workshop • AtopSerenityHill.com #slate #gardendecor #stencilI had to take a different approach to add my flowers and leaves since the stenciling got a little out of hand. The colors I had sprayed were a great background, so I left them alone and added handpainted flowers, petals and leaves on top. I used a #10 filbert brush and a combination of yellow, white and orange for the flowers. The leaves consisted of a few different shades of green.

The white filler dots were created with a white paint pen.

I love how she is peeking through the flowers. She will make a lovely addition to my new yard.

Thanks for joining me today!
