Light & Lacey – A Scrapbook Layout

Hello there!  Happy June and everything that comes with it…end of school, summer breaks, heat, rain & all the other weather conditions in between!

I used a black and white photo, pale feminine colors and 2 stencils to create this scrapbook page.TCW_GRADUATE_June 2016 final

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project.  The opinions I share are solely my own.

I have loved this Lace stencil, but didn’t know how I would use it.  After my daughter’s 6th grade graduation, I knew I wanted to use something delicate, light and girly for these photos.

I added the paints to my laminated paper ‘palette’ in order of the shades I wanted for my Lace stencil.  I had a little too much paint on the end of my stencil, which created a bit of an undefined mess, but was a good place for journaling.

I chose 3 colors of acrylic paint to blend together for my background.  Starting with a light coral, khaki, pale flesh and white paints, I repeated the lace stencil across my page.

After adding a strip of white corrugated paper at the top of the page, I used a gold embossing paste with one of the border stencils to add a border for my photo.

I got impatient and didn’t let the first section dry before adding the next strip of stencil.  So, I ended up smudging some paint in the middle of the page.  I knew my photo cluster would cover this up so I wasn’t worried.TCW_GRADUATE_June 2016 (16)

I used some dimensional adhesive behind my photo then adhered it to a cluster of tags, scrap paper, twine and a sticker.  I added a split title with my newest favorite Thicker in Gold Dipped Alphas.

I used lots of staples from my Tiny Attacher across the paper, embellishments and added some silver paint splatters.  I added my journaling and date stamp to a piece of paper.

This stencil is extremely intricate and light, and even though the paint was a bit thick, it still made a great base for my story.
