Hello, this is Nancy, and you’re reading my first post as a Design Team Member for The Crafter’s Workshop. I’m thrilled to be a part of this team and look forward to creating with fabulous stencils.
With the onset of warmer days ahead, I was inspired to create an art journal spread that bursts with enthusiasm and energy. Winters in New Hampshire can be very long and when they’re over, we jump for joy!
The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.
Supplies Used:
CraftSmart acrylic paints: mustard, aqua
ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks: deep lagoon, yellow ochre
Pam Carriker Matte Mixed Media Adhesive
Baby wipes
Miscellaneous papers
Staz-On ink: teal
Wite-Out correction pen
Uni Ball Signo black gel pen
Vintage image
Glue stick
I began this spread by collaging miscellaneous papers onto the journal paper and coating with a matte medium to better receive the aqua and mustard acrylic paints. The paints were blended with a baby wipe.
The Mini Burst 6″ x 6″ stencil, used with deep lagoon and yellow ochre fluid chalk inks, added design to the spread.
Additional design was created with the Flower Frenzy 6″ x 6″ stencil and inks.
Adding a focal image underscores the ‘jump for joy’ feeling of this journal spread.
The message of this journal page is added with gel pen, Wite-Out correction pen and words stamped onto vintage paper. (Using a white charcoal pencil first assures that the message is accurate before adding the correction pen/marker.)
The journal spread is framed with an application of fluid chalk ink around the outside edge.
The Crafter’s Workshop stencils can add so much to the design of your journal spread, making your background BURST with joy!

Super page. Love the blue and brown together. Great way to use chalk ink too. TFS
Wonderful Nancy. Great colors and the perfect sentiment for this time of year.
