Welcome spring!

My last time as Design Team member on this website … sad, but I think you will LOVE the creations of the new teamie from Holland – Marlene Meijer – van Niekerk!

…. (and yes – we both lived in South Africa!)

Of course this won’t be the last time I will be using TCW stencils, NO – I have used them as long as I can remember, and I will, as long as I will be creating!
If you’d like to see more of my creations, please have a look on my PAPER-STAMPS-COLOR blog.

But, I’m not off yet …

I have a step-by-step tutorial (actually 3) for you today, celebrating spring!

Why do I say 3? I did 3 different takes on a similar technique.

Take 1 :

TCW blueyellow gelliplate acrylic paint flower (1)Use acrylic paints on your Gelliplate, put the stencil on top, and pull a print from it.
I used 2 colors of Fresco Acrylic paints from Paper Artsy here.

TCW blueyellow gelliplate acrylic paint flower (2)Stamp a flower image (Stamp a Dream) onto the print as shown.
As you can see: the image does not pop, so I decided to …

TCW blueyellow gelliplate acrylic paint flower (3)…. stamp the image onto a separate piece of cardstock, cut out the flowers (not the stem), and color it with watercolorpencils. Leave a lot of white space, just hints of color.
Adhere the flowers over the stamped image.
Stamp a sentiment (Magenta).

PS – I had to cut the circle out, as the paper was not white anymore after the printing with the gelliplate.

Take 2 :

TCW gelliprint blueyellow distress flower (1)Use distress ink on your Gelliplate (10 inches), 3 colors, just a tiny bit.  Brayer over it to blend the colors a bit and stamp onto cardstock. Add the same colors of distress inks again, brayer over it to blend the colors, put the stencil onto the gelliplate, brayer over it, and pull a print on top of the first print.

Adhere the flowers over the stamped image.
Stamp a sentiment (Magenta).
