Supplies needed:

  •  Glass votive candle holder
  • Painters Tape
  • Foam spouncer
  • Acrylic paint
  • Glitter (loose)
  • Mod Podge
  • Stencils: I used TCW 584 S Love and Peace & TCW 2086 Love Remnant.
  • Sharpie or pen
  • Scissors

Step 1 Valentine Votives

Step 1: Roll out the painter tape into strips, onto a flat surface. You will need to have several strips wide enough to trace the stencil.

Step 2

Step 2: Place stencil heart portion of TCW 584 S Love and Peace over the painters tape and trace with a sharpie or pen.

Here is stencil TCW 2086 Love Remnant. Tracing the small hearts.

Step 5: Painting the votive

I decided to turn the votive over to paint.  Leaving a small speck of blue painters tape showing so you can see where it is at the end to peel off. I did several different colors painting on the votive.

Let this totally dry before moving on to the next step.

Step 6: Cover the entire votive with Mod Podge and get your glitter ready to cover!

Sprinkle on your glitter!  Also leave a small speck so you can see where your decal heart is otherwise you’ll have to dig it off, which will tear off the paint. I put my votive over a small tray to catch the excess and put back into the bottle.

Step 7: Before the mod podge fully dries, remove your heart decals, slowly peeling away from votive.

You can also omit the glitter and have a plain painted heart which is really nice too!

And here they are!  Make sure to wipe out excess glitter that may of fallen into the candle before lighting.
