Art Journal to Canvas with Karenliz

Happy New Year Everyone!
After taking time for family and friends during the holidays, it’s time to get back in my art room.
To get my mojo going I challenge myself to create a canvas from one of my art journal pages.
Here is my art journal page.
On this page I used the Poppy Fragment (TCW2043) and Messy Script Bit (TCW2091) with some acrylic paints and permanent marker.

For my canvas I decided to just do black and white.
I added the Messy Script Bit with white acrylic paint to a 4″x4″ black canvas.

Next I added the Poppy with modeling paste.

Karenliz_TCWJn2_4x4Pppy3I decided while the paste of was wet to add some beads.
At first it was just a few beads, but I knocked the beads over and more ended up on the canvas.
I just went with it and added more beads to the center.

Karenliz_TCWJn2_4x4Pppy2How do you get your mojo started?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. This is a super piece. Those beads knew where they belong’ I love the black & white. Now I underway all my attempts at b&w have not been successful- the secret is black paper! Thanks for that.
