Exploring Mixed Media Tags with Gabrielle

Dragonfly tag

Hello everyone! It’s Gabrielle here with you today to share a mixed media style tag I made using the TCW 6″ x 6″ stencil called ‘Winged Exploration’ (TCW566).

I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors to create a backdrop on a manila tag. Then combined some Golden’s Matte Gel paste with some Pearlex mica powders to create a unique texture paste to use on the title as well as on the dragonfly image to create a fun 3D embellishment for the card.

I always like to create a brief video tutorial to show step by step how this tag was put together, so grab yourself a cup of coffee, have a little break and enjoy!….

To create the shimmery dragonfly embellishment I combined some matte gel paste with some turquoise Pearlex mica powder, and then cut the image out, attaching it to the tag by the body. Finishing touch was simply adding a few small adhesive gems.  The water drop stamp I used on this tag was a stamp I designed for The Scrapbook Diaries.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and wish you all a fun creative week using your TCW stencils! Me 2014 bannerGeneric
