Hey everyone. Are any of you getting ready for Halloween?
I am not sure I am ready to decorate yet but I decided to go ahead and treasure a precious memory. I created this layout sharing a photo of my daughter’s very first pumpkin carving.
So to start I decided to go with the awesome color of Bazzill cardstock. It is just textured orange cardstock but it really looks like a pumpkin color.
So I wanted to go ahead and share with you all how I layered my stencils to achieve this background.
First I sprayed the stencil TCW2099 and then pressed it into my layout.
This was the look after it dried. The spray had some awesome shimmer too.
Then I added some black acrylic paint with the stencil TCW541.
I like to use a make-up sponge with my fine detail stencils to make sure I don’t get paint where I don’t want it.
Of course I needed a little more texture so I used the stencil TCW539 with some heavy gesso for a pop of white.
I added a little more after placing the photo to see how it would look. Once the gesso dried I added some stamping with Archival Ink because once dry water won’t mess up the ink.
Then I mixed a little gesso with water to create splatter for my layout.
Who doesn’t like a little splatter?
I decided there was just too much white and went for some black splatter too.
Then I finished it off with some chipboard pieces and a Halloween title I cut with my silhouette. I added some glitters on the chipboard.
Here are some close ups. I hope you enjoyed!
