Just playing: a Halloween art journal page

It seems my creative mojo is still on summer vacation! Has this happened to you? It is seriously frustrating but I know that just playing with art supplies can definitely help!

With the fall weather starting, I guess Halloween was on my mind! Here are all the different ways I used The Crafter’s Workshop stencils to make this art journal page.

Once it was dry, I drybrushed the paste with black acrylic paint to grunge it up a bit.

I added acrylic paint in greens and orange using a cosmetic sponge and then added more details to the vines, leaves and berries with colored Sharpie markers.

I then tried adding ink from a black stamp pad all over the 6×6 Spiderweb stencil and stamping onto the page. It did not come out very sharp but I like the look on this page.

The final stencil I used was the Sugar Skull bits. I used this stencil as a guide to trace around with a black Inktense pencil. I then softened all of the lines with a water brush.

I did use the 12×12 Spiderweb stencil as a guide for placement. I shaded under most of the lines with gray watercolor. I then added a few highlight lines and some journaling using a white gel pen to get out my frustration about trying to find my creative mojo.

Do you think I might have found a little inspiration with the new stencils? How do you deal with a lack of inspiration? I know many of us what love to hear how we all deal with this!

Thanks for joining me today!
