Watercolour effects card

Hi Everyone, Beck BT here again today with my very last post as a member of TCW’s first design team.  WOW what fun we have had over the last year!  I have enjoyed exploring the use of stencils in so many different projects over the time and in so many different ways.  It has been so much fun being part of this amazing company!  I’ve been a stencil fan for so long and that that love is definitely not going anywhere!

Well onto my project today!

Today I thought I would share with you a quick process video showing how I created this watercolor effect on my card with the help of the Daily Buzz stencil and some watercolor pencils.

I haven’t had these pencils long – nearly two weeks, but they sure are easy and fun to play with and perfect for this look.  The stencil really helps give an arty effect tracing the pattern onto the card first with the Watercolor pencils and then with a black fine marker.  Rebekah Meier is the true artist behind this design, but I love how she makes it so easy for me to look like an artist too!

Here is a quick process video for you to watch it coming together.  I apologize that the lighting is a bit bright in the start finding it hard to see me trace the stencil, but I have left it as I guess most have traced something before and you can then still see the full process!

Here are some up close pics so you can really see the effects.

  1. That is amazing Beck! I love the work you do with these stencils – that is why I’ve started hoarding them myself! Shame you won’t be officially designing for TCW, but I’m sure I’ll see their wonderful stencils pop up in your other projects that I love so much! Thanks heaps for sharing your amazing creativity!
