Breathe art journal spread

Hello there, everyone, Sanna here today with my last post. I can´t believe how fast time has flewn. I have enjoyed every second of it. This has been such a great team to be in and I am glad I have had the pleasure of being a part of The Crafter´s Workshop family. Truly great memories!!

So today it is time for me to say goodbye and share one last project with you. As my final post I created an art journal spread using a ton of stencils (all stencils I´ve used here, are also available at Scrapbook.com). Here is what I did:

Sanna Lippert

First I applied gesso on my art journal pages and let the layer dry properly.

Next I took some semi opaque matte mist in purple, pink and yellow (by Tattered Angels) and sprayed random circles onto the gessoed surface and again let the layer dry really properly.

After that I took various 6×6 inch stencils and started dabbing heavy body acrylic paint (by Dina Wakley) thru the stencils with a foam brush onto the background. I used turquoise, tangerine, lime and magenta here. And again after applying the paint I needed to let the layer dry – this is really hard for me as I am not very patient :).

Then I took some profile stencils and added those in the middle of my art journal spread. I used black acrylic paint here. I wanted to add another bold pattern to go with the profiles, so I chose to use the number stencil. I again used black paint here and applied the paint with a foam brush.

I felt that the right side profile was not standing out enough, so I colored her hair with a black Sharpie and after that I added some metallic creative medium thru some stencils onto the ladies hair. I also sprinkled some shabby white embossing enamel here and there for additional interest and then heat set the enamel with a heat gun.

I then wanted to add some fun hashtag words to go with my journaling, so I stamped words that fit the theme of my page with a black ink and wrote the text along the edges of the spread. I really like how bold and retro this spread looks like. Here are some detail photos so you can see the enamel and creative medium details better:

It has been such a pleasure being a part of The Crafter´s Workshop family. Thank you so much for your lovely comments, it has been an amazing time designing with TCW stencils. And what a great team of colleagues I have had the pleasure to work with – they have all been such an inspiration! – and what a fab company to work with! I am sure the new team will rock your socks off with their artworks!! I know I am going to be keeping an eye on them and already looking forward to the inspiration they will be sharing!!

ps. a few weeks back I taped a video in Finnish about some fun and easy stenciling techniques and while I was at it, I thought, I might as well do an English one too, so here it is, just a little extra to go with my post:

Thanks for a great time,
xxx, Sanna
