Happy stencil accidents with Rita

Hey there creatives, Rita Barakat here sharing a page out of my art journal book. Sometimes I sit down and don’t really have a plan for a project (like this day) and sometimes you have happy accidents (like this day). I started out with some Gelatos and a homemade heart mask stencil. I knew I wanted the background  to be chalk board paint and that I would use TCW5277 Word Association stencil. I used both the 12×12 and 6×6 size.

I started off using gold Texture Luxe with the stencil and then I changed my mind and covered it all back up with the chalkboard paint. And then it hit me!

I decided to break out sandpaper to see if I could sand some of it down and give it a little rustic look. Much better! Here are some close ups!

I love the way it came out – defiantly a technique worth trying again! How about you? Have you ever discovered a really cool technique by accident? I would love to hear about it! Leave it for me in the comments! Hope you are having a creative weekend!

Blessings!
Rita
