Flowers and Butterflies, Think Spring

Hi Karenliz here today to show you a card I created with  the new stencils for 2015. I think these stencils are my all time favorite. You can check them out HERE.

To start my card I used the Impressions (TCW502) stencil with different shades of purples and greens on a piece of mixed media paper.

Originally this was going to be something else but the Daily Buzz (TCW528) stencil completely changed my mind. I saw the flowers on this stencil and knew I wanted to create individual paper flowers.  I traced the flowers and the little bee on to the back of the paper.

I cut the flowers out and added some very different to the inside to create the middle part of the flower.

I added little glass beads and the dried up paint inside the cap of a paint tube. Here is better picture of a bigger flower.

I keep everything! Next on my black card stock I used Imaginecrafts Iridescent Creative Medium in purple through the Mini Butterfly Collage (TCW554s). This medium is so cool. I love using black but it’s hard to get anything to show up on it. When you first use it you will only see white.

When it dries the color pops. It’s like magic!

To finish the card I attached the flower to the front and added Imaginecrafts Irresistible Texture Spray in Wedding Dress (white).  Here is my finished card.

I hope you love the card. Don’t forget that stencils can be used for anything even embellishments for a card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. This card is beautiful. Thanks for the idea of using the dried paint in the tube cap–wonderful idea. This was a great tutorial. I really enjoyed reading it. Anyone would be thrilled to get this card.
