Art journal pages

At the end of a long day, I find it relaxing to create in my art journal. Here’s how I created these art journal pages…

travel-journal-page-by-Yvonne-Yam-for-The-Crafter's-WorkshopI usually start by adding some colorants to create my background. On these art journal pages, I went with Derwent Inktense Blocks. Then I applied Liquitex Super Heavy Gesso randomly on the pages with The Crafter’s Workshop TCW 470 Geometric Art Layers stencil.

Using a small paintbrush, I doodled on the page with Daler Rowney black gesso and added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze paint splatters.

Next, I added some Tim Holtz rub-ons.

I used The Crafter’s Workshop TCW 492 Kasia’s Letters to write the words “Travel”, then doodled with a white gel pen.

Hope you’ve enjoyed how I created these art journal pages!

  1. Nice! Before the black gesso, the page reminds me of a cityscape. After the black gesso, it’s pure grunge!! thanks for the inspiration
