Hi everyone. Lydell here with you again, sharing a canvas I started today. I thought I would share it as I create it. This is pretty much where I am up to. I just thought I would run through with you the steps I took.
I chose a 12×12 canvas. I picked out a few Stencils and some texture paste and a palette knife. I started by adding texture to the outside edges of the canvas. This one is Circle Explosion TCW278
This one is Specimen TCW 454. Again around the edges with texture paste, adding texture marks for future layers!
The canvas always looks a little dodgy for a while before it starts looking good….LOL. I used a surviette, torn into pieces, and glued them on randomly with gel medium, painting a layer under and over the tissue pieces.
Using archival ink, or any other waterproof Ink, Stamp some text around the canvas.
Using Acrylic Paints, pick 3 or 4 colours and start painting the canvas. Add a little water to make it a little transparent in some places. I kept the darker colour around the very outer edges and blended colours towards the centre.
Using black Distress ink and a blending tool, add more texture with Tiny Circles TCW361, one of my very favourite stencils for adding texture marks. Love this one!!!
I also added the diamonds with harlequin TCW202.
So I will leave the canvas there, and continue with my girl painting to place on it!
I will be back on Monday to show you how I finished it all off! So you have time to follow these steps and create your own canvas!
Thanks for stopping in today!
Have an awesome week!
