Hi Everyone! Today I’m excited to show you what I made with two new stencils from the Winter 2015 collection. You can see them all HERE.
For today’s cards I used TCW515s Pinecones and TCW517s Sunlit Forest. Anyone who knows me I love trees so this stencil was perfect. The one thing about stencils with a scene is that many times you don’t have to do very much with them. Less is more as they say.
For my first card I chose to do a black and white card. I used white cardstock (5×5) and black acrylic paint with the Sunlit Forest (TCW517s) stencil. I then used the Pinecones stencil (TCW515s) and Liquitex Modeling Paste to add an embellishment to the front of the card. Once the paste dried I cut out the pinecone. I cut the greens (Tim Holtz Thinlits Die Holiday Greens) from white cardstock and the strings are leftover from tags.
Here is the close up of the embellishment I made with the modeling paste and stencil. Using this method you can make quite a few embellishments inexpensively.
Here is my black and white card. The black and white card is 5.5 x 5.5.
For my second card I repeated the same procedures except I used Distress Inks to color the background. The pinecone embellishment I added brown ink to the modeling paste while it was wet and then cut it out when it was dry.
Here is a close up of the pinecone embellishment. The string is also leftover from tags.
Here is the finished card on black cardstock, 5.5 x 5×5.
You can’t really see it on both cards but I added some glitter to the sun. I can’t wait to show you more new projects with the new Winter 2015 collection.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
