A day in paradise – Stencils with Pastels

Hello there, Sanna here today to share a layout that is quite different to my regular style. The reason? I recently added some PanPastels to my stash and they are so fabulously soft in tone and color that I just needed to create a very pastellic, romantic kind of layout.

Here is what I did:

I took a 12×12 inch piece of white cardstock, placed the “Ripples” stencil over it and wiped some PanPastels thru the stencil onto the white cardstock surface. I used purple, yellow, green, blue and orange pastels on the background.

I then went and applied some washi tape around the edgesand layered some patterned paper on the top and bottom of the page. Next I went over these layers using a grey pastel tone and the “Sea Creatures” stencil. After that I took the “Punchinella” 6×6 inch stencil and applied some golden molding paste onto the background here and there. After that I just added little bits and pieces of chipboard and other embellishments here and there to finalize my layout. This is how the finished piece looks like:

for some close-up photos, visit my blog. Now this is a totally different kind of layout that I usually create. It has lots and lots of different layers and is full of details. I really enjoyed creating this page – from time to time one just needs to try out something new :).

How about you – when have you last created something totally outside your comfort zone?

Have fun scrapping,
