Using a stencil to create a journal spot

For most of us, the journaling is the finishing touch to a layout. But sometimes, it can be hard to find a nice journal spot for our layouts without “ruining” the overall aesthetic of the piece, right?

At first, I wanted to incorporate it under the title work with a white pen.Follow-the-signs-layout-by-Yvonne-Yam-for-The-Crafters-WorkshopThen I decided that since I’ve used rectangle shapes for all the photos, I could create a journal spot with the same shape. So I applied Liquitex light modelling paste with The Crafter’s Workshop TCW 392 Captured stencil. The hearts were coloured with a red Sharpie and the journaling was done with a white pen.

It’s a fun way to include a journal spot on your layout, don’t you think?
