I Cut Up My Stencil

Hi Karenliz here. Yes, I cut up my stencil. I can’t believe I did it. Sounds crazy right? Let me explain.

You ever have a stencil that you love because of one design on it? Well this stencil I always seem to use the square and circle frames on mixed media projects. It already has perforations so I cut out what I needed. Here is my stencil, TCW474 Hand Drawn Frames.  Let me tell you it was hard to do.

Karenliz_TCW474This is the 12×12 stencil. I keep my 6×6 six together. Below you can see I used the circle frame to create some texture on this tag.

After the modeling paste dried I added acrylic inks, scrap paper, pieces of embellishments, string and the butterfly is from Prima.

I don’t recommend cutting up all your stencils. I cut this one because it didn’t ruin the all the frames. I can still attach the two missing frames with a little tape to use it as one stencil again.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
