Sanna´s Stamps & Stencils week projects

Hello there, here is a canvas I created using Viva Las VegaStamps and The Crafter´s Workshop stencils.

I have used various stencils and stamps on this project and here is also a little step-by-step tutorial for you:

I first gessoed the canvas and then applied 4 tones of acrylic paint onto it.

Next I took the “Baubles” 12×12 inch stencil and traced the pattern with a pencil onto a piece of white cardstock.

SONY DSC

After that I fussy cut the image using a precision knife. I only used a piece that would fit the size of my canvas.

SONY DSC

After that I misted the piece,

SONY DSC

and then added some stamping.

SONY DSC

I then added some black patterns for contrast onto the canvas background using the “Beaded curtain” 12×12 stencil.

SONY DSC

I also grabbed a piece of tissue paper and stamped some black butterflies onto it. I then used “Glue n´ Seal” to adhere them to my canvas later.

SONY DSC

I love in droplets, so I therefore had to add some also to this piece.

SONY DSC

After the droplets were dry, I adhered the fussy cut stencil image piece over the canvas with “Glue n´ Seal”.

SONY DSC

Next I took the “Texturized” 12×12 inch stencil and applied some texture paste over the canvas mainly to the upper right corner.

SONY DSC

I then took some flower ribbon and cut suitable pieces out of it and adhered those over the texture pasted area.

SONY DSC

After the glue and paste had dried, I went and sprayed some yellow and pink spray ink over the paste and the ribbon.

SONY DSC

White the spray ink was drying, I took the piece fo white cardstock which I had used previously for the fussy cut stenciled image and stamped an image with black ink onto it. I then went along and used a butterfly die cut for cutting and

SONY DSC

then misted it with blue spray ink.

SONY DSC

I then glued it over the flowers with “Glue n´ Seal” and adhered a light bulb over it. The light bulb I treated with some gesso and glitter glue for additional interest and to alter it abit. After that I just hand drew a sentence on white paper, spray inked the words and glued them on their places. This is what my finished canvas looks like:

Hello again, Sanna here with a simple and easy card idea. I have used spray inks, a piece of white paper, some stamps (all by Viva Las VegaStamps) and stencils for these cards.

Bildschirmfoto 2014-10-25 um 20.38.01

Here is how I created the cards:

SONY DSC

I first took some black ink and stamped various stamp images randomly onto the paper.
SONY DSC

Next I sprayed various spray ink colours over the inked images.

SONY DSC

Then I applied some Distress ink thru the 6×6 inch “Deco Leaves” stencil onto my card bases.

SONY DSC

After that I just took my stamped, spray inked piece of paper and cut it into random sized strips. I didn´t measure them and cut pretty freely.

Then I just glued the pieced down onto the card bases, added a stamped sentiment, some black ink splatters and a ribbon for additional decoration and my cards were done.

Hope you like the idea!
Happy crafting,
