New technique for you TCW stencils!

RitaBarakatTCW Hey there artsy peeps,  Rita Barakat here! Today I have a fun new technique for you to try with your TCW stencils!  I am using TCW477 Chrysanthemum  and I can’t help but think of stained glass when I look at it, so I had this idea…RitaBarakatTCW1a
Here is an art journal page that had lots of layers of colors. (I used Gelatos.) I placed the stencil on top and added a layer of glaze to preserve the colors.

After it was dry I covered the whole page with chalkboard paint. (I know crazy, right? But when I get these ideas…)

My original thought process was that I would be able to wipe away the paint off the glazed areas but the chalkboard paint dries much too quickly ! So plan B – sand away; in a circular motion I was able to sand away the glazed areas because those areas were raised.

Here is a close – looking pretty cool if I say so myself! The texture feels very neat s well!

And another view! I hope you will try this new technique with your TCW stencils, I would love to see your results!
