Bonus Day for Creatastic Blog Hop with Susan K Weckesser Inc

IMG_5636

Surprise – our designers had so much fun playing with Susan K Weckesser Inc stamps, that we have a bonus day of our inspiration-filled, fun-filled festival during our team’s Creatastic Blog Hop.  We have had amazing projects created by our Design Team members.   Susan K Weckesser’s Design Team shared projects they created over on their site too.  Both teams used Susan K Weckesser Inc products as well as stencils by The Crafter’s Workshop

Now, make sure you visit both blogs, because we are going to have some fun prize packages given away each day on both sites.  You need to leave comments each day for a chance to win!  We also encourage you to stop by and become a fan of Susan K Weckesser Facebook Page and The Crafter’s Workshop Facebook Page because that is where we will announce the winners.

Sanna Lippert and Karen Jiles are here today to share their creations.

Karen Jiles shares her journal.

Hi there,

Karen here, sharing a journal that I created using the Susan Weckesser patterned paper and TCW stencils. This was a fun delight. Susan Wecksesser’s patterned paper is wonderful to work with.  It’s thick and has great artistic patterns. I also used the Mini Sketch Grid and Ledger.

I began by adhering the patterned paper to my journal and applying molding paste using a craft knife and TCW Ledger stencil.

Next, I randomly applied white paint using the Sketch Grid stencil.

I love that the patterned paper was a lovely base for this project and the stencils complimented the overall design.

And Sanna Lippert with a fun bundle of cards!

Hi there! Today I´d like to share with you two cards I created using stencils and stamps. Here is also a little step-by-step tutorial for you:

SONY DSC

I first stamped the image on a separate paper, then inked it with brown Distress Ink. After that I applied some water splatters over the inked areas and let them dry. Since Distress Ink is water soluble, the ink will disappear from the wet areas and leave nice light “splatters”.

Next I covered the card base with a lighter brown Distress Ink colour and then stenciled over it with a darker tone. After that I just added some ribbon, the chipboard elements and finally glued the stamped image on top of it all.

The second card is made using the same technique, but in different colours.

I hope you get inspired to try some stamping and stenciling on your cards!!

Have fun!!

Hi there, this is the third card I created using the Grandma´s Needlepoint stamp set by Susan K. Weckesser. Here is a little step-by-step tutorial:

I first wiped some broken china Distress Ink onto the card base.

After that I placed the “Coffee Splotch” stencil over the card and applied a darker tone (faded jeans) of Distress Ink thru it onto the card.

I then stamped patterns with purple and grey ink onto the background and used a black ink to stamp the sentiment. All images are from the “Grandma´s Needlepoint” stamp set by Susan K. Weckesser.

After that I went and inked a chipboard frame with blue and grey ink, applied a piece of cardstock (wiped with blue Distress Ink) underneath the frame and before adhering the frame on it´s place, stamped the cute birdie couple with black ink into the middle.

In the end I also added an enamel heart (outlined with a black pen) into the middle for more interest.

This is how the finished card looks like. I hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial and get inspired to play with stamps and stencil!

  1. These are all so awesome! I loved all the great ideas that were shown this week. I have a few more stencil to add to my shopping list. 🙂

  2. I like all the projects. It’s so beautiful.

One thing : it’s frustrating a bit that you announce winners only on FB. You assume everybody is there… but I’m not (and don’t want to). I’m participating on your blog, why don’t you announce winners on the blog?

  3. Love those bold flowers on the journal! The ledger paste looks awesome over it! And the cards are wonderful! Love the first with the mono-chrome look and the touch of glitter and the stamping on the third card turned out so cute!! Thanks for sharing.
