Stencils, canvas and paint OH MY! Hey there artsy peeps Rita Barakat here with this pillow form from Canvas Corp!  It is super thick and a perfect place for lots of layers and mixed media!Aug 2014 005100
After drawing a basic design I used a little Gesso and several TCW stencils. I used : TCW487 Alhambra,  TCW483 Spotted, TCW481 North Star, TCW488 Viva La Art

After adding gesso and drying it I started coloring with Gelatos.

I added lots of color, after filling in I continued to add more color with stencils.

You can see where areas with gesso  pop underneath the color. I continued to add more color with the stencils, then  went back with PITT pens for details.

Here it is all finished! Looking lovely, I hope this makes you want to grab your stencils and go paint something!

Blessings!

    1. Thanks Helen! Gelatos are water soluble so if you are going to wash it there are fabric sealers out there that you can use. Another option is a spray sealer, then you can do touch ups but I wouldn’t put it in the wash if you were doing this option. For me it’s purely decorative so I didn’t seal it. I will say though the PITT Artist Pens can go through the wash and come out the same (I have tried that!)
