Cards in fall colours

Hi there, today I´d like to share three fall cards in fall tones. I´ve also taken some step-by-step photos while creating the cards. Lets start with card no. 1.

First I inked the white card base with Wild Honey Distress Ink and then added some water splatters onto the surface.

I then took the “Vineyard” 12×12 inch stencil, placed in over the card and added some Barn Door and Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink thru the stencil onto the card.

After that I used my all time favorite Hero Arts stamp Old Letter Writing and stamped with Forest Moss Distress Ink tone. This is how the card looks like:

The sentiments are made with Tim Holtz Hashtag stamp set stamps and the butterflies are older product from my stash. Now onto the second card:

I made this card background using the leftover ink that had stayed on the stencil after inking it for the first card. I first sprayed some water mist onto the inky area and then placed a piece of watercolour paper onto that area and rolled over it with a brayer. That way the end result will be nice and even. So these are actually the same colours as on the previous card, but in much lighter tone due to the water spray.

This way I didn´t waste any ink and could create a nice negative stencil image background for my second card. I wanted to keep the main focus on the pretty background pattern and therefore just added some yarn, a pin, butterflies and a sentiment onto the card. Now let´s move to the third card:

I again used the same Distress Ink tones like on my previous cards. This time I placed the stencil over a piece of white paper and just wiped the red Distress Ink onto the background thru the stencil. The stencil is again the 12×12 inch “Vineyard” one.

Next I went and wiped some Wild Honey Distress Ink over the stenciled image and then used the 6×6 inch “Vineyard” stencil to add some light texture paste over the inked area.

Before the paste was totally dry, I quickly added a layer of yellow Distress Glitter over the paste and let it dry. After it was totally dry I dabbed the residue off. It stayed put really well – you just need to work fast. If the paste has time to dry the glitter will not stick.

And this is how the finished card looks like. I didn´t add a sentiment on the cover, as I found this card didn´t really need one. Depending on the occation, one can write the sentiment on to the inside later. Here are some closies of the cards.

I had lots of fun creating these cards and layering the stencils, stamps and media over each other. Now it is your turn – have fun!!!
