Family selfie – adding small stencilled details to a layout

Hello there, Sanna here today to share a simple idea how to incorporate small stencilled details onto layouts.

While testing the new stencils I randomly wiped some ink thru them onto a piece of watercolour paper. That is how I ended up with this 12×12 inch piece of paper full of different stencil images.

I was thinking I could use these images in little portions on a layout, so I first created a strong background for these images (I like colour and strong contrasts). I therefore chose a piece of black woodgrain cardstock and dabbed some white acrylic paint thru the “North Star” stencil onto the background.

Next I chose matching papers and embellishments to go with the stencilled images and colours and started creating and layering the layout. This is what my finished layout looks like:

I just love the new designs and they all work together so well!! I hope you get inspired to create with stencils!! Have fun 🙂
