Storing Stencils!

July 2014 031100Hey there crafters Rita Barakat here! Do you have a ton of stencils and no clue how to store them? I happened to have a little 6×6 craft binder that I had not used and I don’t know why I didn’t think about this before but it’s perfect for storing stencils!

First I had to decorate it! A little texture paste and misting…

July 2014 028100  I used the wildflowers stencil and a little modeling paste! (LOVE this stencil!)July 2014 032100
When it was dry I added my stencils!!!

On my newer stencils I went ahead and left the packaging so I would know the names when I do my blog posts. I also make a document to keep track of all of my stencils…

Here is a screen shot of how it looks – I grab the pictures online, shrink them down and keep them in separate files  for 6×6 and 12×12. This really helps for the older ones when I don’t have the packaging anymore. So there you have it! My way for storing stencils! I don’t have that many 12×12 stencils yet so I keep them with my latest papers stored loose and horizontally. I hope this gives you some ideas on storing stencils, I would love to know how you store your stencils! Leave me a comment !

  1. I have the packaging for most of mine and I have them standing up in a box on my counter to easily flip through. I LOVE that you’ve made documents of yours!!! I have enough now that flipping through every time to see what I want to use is not so fun anymore 🙂 I’m thinking put them in alphabetically and have the document to quickly see what I want to use and finding it would be easy. Thanks!!!!!

  2. so many stencils! so much to store! I too use binders! Have one 12×12 plastic one which of course is full; still searching to find another!

  3. That’s a great idea. I need to organize mine like this. Right now I have them all in a plastic bin on my table, not the best way to store them. Thanks for sharing

  4. I store my 6×6 ones the same way, although I made mine out of sheet protectors and washi tape. My 12×12 one is a purchased one. They work really well for me too! Thanks for sharing!

  5. This is awesome, Rita! I was looking for a better way to store my stencils. I have mine on a loose leaf ring binder and really wanted something more structured. Thanks for sharing this idea.
