Hi there,
Karen here, sharing a card that I created using my TCW stencils. I absolutely love creating my own backgrounds for my layouts and cards, especially in instances when I do not have coordinated patterned papers and embellishments on hand. What I enjoy most though is using my stencils to create great fun and excitement. In the card below, I was able to enhance the overall design with the use of my Coffee Splotch and Texturized stencils.
I began the process covering an 8 ½ x 11 piece of white cardstock with gelatos that I randomly applied washi tape and gesso to. Tip: Using a complete sheet of cardstock for this project allows you to create more patterned paper to work with for other projects, and it enables you to create more cards.
Next, I laid the Coffee Splotch stencil on my “gelato’d” cardstock and used a cosmetic sponge to apply white paint to the cardstock. After letting the paint dry, I cut my cardstock down to a layered size for my card.
I then laid the Texturized stencil on a coordinated piece of green cardstock and used a cosmetic sponge to apply white paint to the edges. This created an additional stenciled layer to compliment the card.
Lastly, I adhered my stenciled layers together to finish building my card.
