Ink daubers & the Striped Leaves stencil

Hi there! Sanna here again. I am quite fond of the “Sriped leaves” stencil recently. A few days back I was playing around with Ink Daubers in my craft room and as I was creating all kinds of cards with them, this idea was born. I wanted to try out how they work in combination with stencils. And these two products work really well together. I really like how the cards turned out. So here they are with a little step-by-step on how I created them.

First I took a plain white card and placed the “Striped Leaves” stencil over it and next I dabbed with the Ink Daubers (pale tomato, buttercup and tide pool) color thru the stencil randomly onto the card surface.sannalippert_surprise_daubers1

After that I applied some glitter glue here and there for more interest.sannalippert_surprise_stickles
Next I just stamped a sentiment and fussy cut it, cut some banners and inked around the edges. Then I glued the sentiment down and colored some white pearls with a green marker and the first card was all done.sannalippert_surprise_copicpearls
For my second card background I used the stencil that was still wet with ink. I placed it the wet side down onto white watercolor paper and pressed it down with my hands pretty firmly. I wanted to have as much as possible leftover ink soak into the paper. After that I turned the stencil around and drew/outlined the leaf pattern into my card using a black pen. I also doodled some random patterns for more interest.sannalippert_hellofriend_doodling1

Next I cut a banner out of a piece of white cardstock and wrote a sentiment.sannalippert_hellofriend_sentiment
I had some leftover patterned paper pieces lying around my desk so I took a leaf stamp and stamped leaves with black ink, fussy cut them and glued them down. For additional decoration I added some pearls onto the leaves. sannalippert_hellofriend_pearls
And this is what my cards looked like when I was finished.SONY DSC

SONY DSCI hope you have enjoyed this little step-by-step!

Happy stenciling,
xoxo, Sanna

  1. Your cards are fabulous! I admire you for always finding new ways to use the stencils (and I definitely have to buy this one….)
