Love Cristin Grönnslett

Ahhh. For all layout artists who love pretty layouts and want to incorporate mixed media and stencils, HERE YA’ GO! Cristin Grönnslett leads the way (from Norway!!) to show us how “less can be more”.

“Messy” can be subtle. It can be color coordinated. It can be harmonious. Don’t be afraid to reach beyond your comfort zone. You can layer, one soft layer after another soft layer. You don’t need to scream “I’m a mixed media artist”, you can whisper it.

We’ll still hear you.

Using Templates for Backgrounds

If you’re like me and a little hesitant to take the bold step of using our templates on your layouts, today’s post is for you! Instead of featuring the template as a focal image on your layout, you can use it to add color, texture, interest, and layers to your background. Look at this stunning layout by :

Hey beautifully layered page is made even more interesting and colorful by the awesome bits of colors she added with the templates in the background. I can see peeks of Mix & Match Hearts, Cursive Alphabet, and Punchinella.

So if you haven’t tried using templates on your pages yet, this is a wonderful way to dip your toes in. I hope you give it a try and share your pages with us!
