Martha Richardson has a real love affair with our templates and Tattered Angels Sprays.

Tattered Angels Paint Mediums Used on above tag:

Glimmer Mist in Key Lime Pie & Pearl

Glimmer Chalkboard in Fairway & Calypso

She took 3 of her favorite templates:

And then went to town with them.  Here’s what she writes:

“I often talk about MOP TAGS, these are manilla shipping tags that I use to mop up any excess mist and I save them for future use. I have two tags created from these Mop Tags and stenciled watercolor paper.

“The above photo shows the back of the tags where I added the left over pieces, the watercolor paper that I use and more stencils & it’s matching MOP TAG!

My second project is part of a monthly challenge created by 3 fabulous artists called THE WHATEVER’S, based on creative storytelling. If you want to know all the specifics you can find all the info. here at Nathalie Kalbach’s blog or here at Catherine Scanlon’s blog or here at our very own Tattered Angel, Vickie Chrisman’s blog! I was intrigued by the concept and spent sometime thinking about the story I wanted to create. I knew that a piece of old wallpaper would be the base for my 1st page/story and of course this could only be created with Tattered Angels.”

Thanks Martha! Absolutely beautiful!!  Click here to read her blog.

Alison Bomber from the UK

P1230087My favorite part of “mixed media” is the mixing of textures. Smooth vs raised.  Matte vs shiny. Alison has done just that with her beautiful tag. I like how she inked up one of Donna Downey’s stamps for the background and then scraped Wendy Vecchi’s embossing paste through it.

Winter CHA 2013: Quatrefoil by Ronda Palazzari

Ronda Palazzari Quatrafoil

Hello again!  It’s Ronda here to introduce you to the last of my new stencils with The Crafter’s Workshop!  Today I am sharing with you my quatrefoil stencil.  It is such a regal design dating back thousands of year.  I twisted a bit into a barbed quatrefoil design with the openings approximately .75″ x 1″ on the 12×12.  The 6×6 is so petite and beautiful.  Here are a few examples using this stencil.

Ronda Palazzari Quatrefoil Tag both

Here you can see both sizes next to each other.  Go small or go big but you cannot go wrong with this stencil.

Happy New Year Tammy Tutterow!!

tammytutterow-the-secret-25At first I just saw this saying on a tag Tammy Tutterow made and I thought “YES! we all need to count our blessings”. Great thought for the new year.tammytutterow-the-secret-15

And then I saw those little numbers and thought “hmmm?”

And then took a closer look and saw my little friend, Basketweave TCW210.

I know this is totally out of order as far as Tammy’s tutorial goes, sorry about that. I think I multitask too much that I end up doing first-things-last and last-things-first! Sorry. You’ll just have to go to Tammy’s blog and read it properly. But in the meantime, this is the beauty she created in the end.tammytutterow-the-secret-1

Can’t wait to see you, Tammy!! And to remember that when I count my blessings, I’m blessed to count you among my many blessings.

Here’s a look at the 12 x 12 stencil and the 6 x 6 on some tags.

Ronda Palazzari confetti

The next stencil I want to introduce is called Confetti.  I love this stencil for lots of reasons especially because you can add splatters to a page easily without worries of where they’ll end up.  Use the stencil as a whole or small bits & pieces of it around your page for that artsy look.  Here are a few samples using the Confetti stencils.

Ronda Palazzari Picture Perfect

Hello again!  It’s Ronda here to introduce you to the next of my new stencils coming out in January with The Crafter’s Workshop!  Today I am sharing with you my Picture Perfect Stencil.  I adore taking photographs, especially candids.  I love capturing those unscripted moments of daily life that tells our stories.  As this love grew so did my vintage camera collection which inspired this stencil.  I sat down and drew out some of my favorites both vintage & modern.

Winter CHA 2013: Honeycomb by Ronda Palazzari

Hello again!  It’s Ronda here to introduce you to the next of my new stencils coming out in January with The Crafter’s Workshop!  Today I am sharing with you my Honeycomb Stencil.  As popular as the honeycomb motif is, I wanted to shake things up a bit.  I added some dimension and tweaked the basic shape to create a whole new look.  It makes for a graphic yet intricate background.  And you know I love a good background. I also love to play with the trends.

My Honeycomb Stencil in both 12×12 and 6×6 sizes satisfies both!  Here are a few samples using both the 12×12 and 6×6 stencils.

This Art journal page uses both the 12×12 and 6×6 stencils with lots of gesso, paints, stamps, and spray ink.

On this layout I used the 12 x 12 layout with some water soluble crayons and spray ink.

This tag uses the 6×6 stencil with water soluble crayons and a black pen.

I cannot wait to see your creations with my stencils.  Want to see out more of my work, check out my blog.

Winter CHA 2013: Urban Landscape + Subway Stencils

Hello!  It’s Ronda here again to introduce you to two more of my new stencil line with The Crafter’s Workshop!  Today I am sharing with you my Urban Landscape & Subway stencils.  I’m a a traveler, a wanderer of this planet.  I love discovering new places, journeying to new continents & countries, and I truly love being in the city.

Urban Landscape is a tribute to cities everywhere.  This hand drawn stencils is a compendium of cities making it universal.  With the shadow and the hand drawn details, Urban Landscape can be used in a variety of ways.

These tags were created with the 6×6 version.  On the top you see the shadow in white spray paint, in the middle is a black shadow in black spray paint, and the bottom is combing the shadow and detail drawing.  Here are a few more samples with Urban Landscape.

Wander is a 12×12 layout using both the shadow & detail drawing of the 12×12 stencil using spray inks.  The title Wander was stitched after using the template to punch holes for the thread.

This art journal page was also made using the 12×12 Urban Landscape Stencil.  On the background you can also see my previous released Kaleidoscope 6×6 Stencil.

This tag was created using the 12×12 Urban Landscape stencil along with the 6×6 Kaleidoscope stencil.

This piece is made using the 12×12 Urban Landscape stencil and watercolor crayons to create a cool watercolor look.

Subway also developed from my wanderings but also for my need for a shall we say manly/boyish stencil.  I love that it can be multi-functional, travel, life in the city, transportation, or just a cool background.

This layout uses the 12×12 Subway stencil.  I sponged paint through this stencil to create this engineer like background as a nod to my Rocket Scientist husband.

This art journal page uses the 12×12 stencil adding in colorful details that pop on the page.  You can also see the gessoed 12×12 Kaleidoscope stencil peeking thru the background.

I am very excited to share these stencils with you.  I cannot wait to see what you create using them.
