Watercolor and stenciling in your Bible – Bible Journaling

Happy New Year my lovely creative friends.  I am so happy and honored to be spending 2019 with all of you.

I am not really known for my Bible Journaling on Youtube, but it is very much a passion of mine in my everyday life. I started Bible journaling when I had my daughter who was born premature at 30 weeks.  We spend 2 months in hospital and I really needed something to hold on to and give me hope.

As we enter into the new year, I find myself anxious about what’s to come, and it’s good to just be still and let the Lord silence those thoughts.  Today I am working in my creative Bible Journal, in Isaiah 41:10 (Especially).  It is written: “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.  Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you, I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”  Beautiful and encouraging, isn’t it?!

To create this page, I added a thin layer of TCW Clear Gesso and let it dry.The Gesso has provided some tooth to the pages and made it a bit more sturdy.  It can now take a bit more water.  I add some color the the page with white nights watercolor.Next I sponge on the watercolor through TCW Skylight, it creates a soft translucent pattern. I also add some Faber Castell Gelatos over top to make the pattern pop. Gelatos are notorious for  smearing, so I just seal it it real quick with another TCW Clear Gesso layer.Next I am just adding some personal touches using stickers and journaling.  Lastly I add some washy tapes and a cute bow clip to the top. I hope you love this Bible Journaling page as much as I did.

    1. Have you tried the White Nights watercolors without page prep? I know several other companies can be used without the prep. I’m hoping these can be as well. They are in my birthday wishlist.
