Turn Mistakes into Beauty Mixed Media Art Journal by Farrel Tailor

Hello there TCW Fans, Farrel here to share with you all an art journal creation using a mixture of fabulous TCW products. So grab a cuppa, sit back and relax as I take you through on how I created this page.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

To begin my page I used Distress Oxides and my round foam blending tool to create a soft background. Then I used my water spray bottle create some marks to the background.

Once dry I then used TCW803 Distress Lace in the 6×6 and blended Distress Oxide ink around the corners of my page.

For the center of the page I used TCW812 Coronet Wreath stencil and Distress Oxides Ink.

For the next step I had orginally used a stamp around the corners but didn’t like it so I used TCW755 Modern Lace and another Distress Oxide Ink to cover it…. Hence where the title came from for my page.

Next I used a combination of Colour Blast Pastes – Royalty, Deep Water & Just Blue and applied them using a spatula to TCW816 Bird and Butterflies stencil.

I used Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks to add some colour around the birds. Then I highlighted around TCW816 Bird and Butterflies stencil with a white paint pen.

I used the scribble sticks to add colour the my heart stamped image.

I used TCW9011 Gel Medium to adhere my Dina Wakley Tissue Paper Sentiment.

To finish off I splattered the page using TCW9001 White Gesso.

Have a safe new year and I will be back with more projects soon xx
