Hello Everyone!! It’s Lindsay here with you today, from Crafting While Caffeinated Blog & YouTube Channel. I LOVE stencils!!! There are so many wonderful techniques you can use them for and they are just so much fun to play around with! That’s where this technique comes from. I wanted to find a way to fill in the blank space left by a stencil, without embossing. Sometimes, embossing can leave stray powders places I don’t want them, so I wanted to find a way to create a nice clean look. I tested a few different methods and this is by far my favorite! For all the details be sure to watch the video above, but here are a few tips and tricks that helped me! The first is that Gloss Gel Medium is a must. Matte gel will work, but it doesn’t resist the ink near as well as the glossy surface.
Also, I used three colors today. Two for ink blending and one to fill in the space left by the stencil, but you can go as crazy or as minimal as you want! For instance, you could do a fun tone on tone look with the same color of ink or you could do a full rainbow with a black stenciled space! It really is up to you!
Finally, this will work with any and all of The Crafter’s Workshop stencils! You can pick and choose which stencils to play around with. I think using a floral stencil would be really beautiful!
