Choosing a Happy Connection

Hello happy Bloggers, Lisa here. This is my 1st blog post for the amazing TCW. I am absolutely ecstatic to be a part of this amazing Design Team and to be able to play and showcase some cool TCW products for you.  This is going to be my pure joy for the next 12 months.

Today I am sharing with you 2 pieces that represent just what you can expect from my style of blog post; lots of colour and boldness. The reason I am sharing 2 pieces is that I also still have to work on taking process photos along the way, which help other artists get a grasp of what stage of the creative process I am at. I am a visual type and find that speed videos help my own creative flow- I personally don’t record long form videos, and do apologize if that is something that you require. So to balance I have created 2 similar works, one in hyper lapse and one I shall write a simple step by step.

Lets start with the video, and using this wonderful TCW809 Ocean Window and the TCW807 Script Dots as a background stencil.

Happily using the fab TCW heavy body paints to create a vibrant background, TCW9011 Matte Gel Medium to adhere my gel plate pieces to the page, and TCW9002 Black Gesso to densely cover my page and stencil to creating such a bold finishing statement.

To create such bold backgrounds, I usually use a combination of rainbow colours and while the paint is wet, rub over TCW807 Script Dots stencil to strip back some colour, leaving the stencil imprint. Dry and repeat.

When dry add extra background details using stamps and handwritten elements

Adding another layer, while adding text and sentiment using TCW2175 Choose Happy

Then for the focal point, TCW821 Prayerful Angel with TCW9002 Black Gesso and double stenciled TCW9010 Silver Gesso for the wings. I detailed her face with a little skin coloured acrylics then re stenciled her face .

Thank you so much for checking in on The Crafters Workshop blog today.

I will be back before you know it with another vibrantly juicy arty offering.

Lisa xx
