You are capable

Hi, it’s me again, back with another blog post for The Crafters Workshop! So happy to be here again to share this art journal page with you.

To start the page I took some  TCW9028 Antique Gold Modeling Paste and applied it through some TCW stencils by Rebekah Meier. First we have TCW765 Flower Grid; wanting to add another ring around this floral image I used the outer ring from the stencil TCW767 Floral Radar. Off to the left side of the page I used the stencils Floral Radar but again in 6×6, and TCW766s Thoughtful Bird.

For paint colors I combined TCW Heavy Body Acrylic Paints in TCW9024 Kale SmoothieTCW9023 Blue Jellybean and just a little dab of TCW9015 Black Licorice to achieve a dark teal color. When applying paint I would use a baby wipe to remove some of the paint from the modeling paste. I wanted most of the gold modeling paste to show. I worked more paint around the entire page including some TCW9013 Iridescent Gold.

When the paint had dried I applied some Prima Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance in Red Amber is some areas.

To have some more metallic shine on this layout I grabbed some more TCW modeling paste, this time in TCW9029 Copper Penny. I love this color! I used it with another TCW stencil by Rebekah Meier called TCW768 Journal Musings.

To add some darkness in areas and to enhance the circular shape of the Flower Grid stencil, I added some distress crayon in black soot.

As a finishing touch and to draw your eye more to the main stencil, Flower Grid; I added three little piece of printed fabric with images of butterflies on them.  I applied color to them and then sewed around the edges and glued them to my journal. I found a phrase from Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers and cut it into three pieces. I added each piece to the fabric using some Antique Gold Modeling Paste. I love the look it gives.

And there you have it! My finished art journal layout. I love using TCW modeling paste with their stencils for great texture and with all the colors they carry, its easy to achieve great color with them as well!

Thanks so much TCW for having me on the blog again.

And thank you readers.

If you would like to see a process video of the layout then check out my YouTube Channel.

Till next time…

¡Me encanta! Tengo que probarlo. Gracias por las explicaciones y el video.

  3. What is the tape you use tha.t appears to glue down your journal pages and vellum. Wish there was more info on supplies used.
