No Mojo??? Start Tiny!

Hi Everyone!  Coming back from vacation is usually the time where my creativity disappears. I usually go play in my art journals but lately those blank pages seem so big. This time I decided to go smaller.  I pulled out a 2″x2″ canvas, 3″x3″ canvas and a blank Artist Trading Card.

I decided to use only one 6″x6″ stencil called Trendy Images TCW739.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

For paint I wanted it to be bright and colorful so I chose fluorescents.

So I played with the colors and added the stencil designs to all the tiny canvases.

Using TCW Gloss Gel Medium I added focal images to each one.

TCW Gloss and Matte Gel Medium dries clear. This is one of my favorite ways to use it. Once it all dried I added dark blue paint to each one and wiped away the excess off the gel medium. I dried them all with a heat gun then added white around the stencil designs with a Uniball Signo White pen.

Here they are all finished.  As you can see I added more of the stencil design with gel medium but you must wait for the focal image to dry first before adding more.  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. You can see all the New Stencils and Mixed Media Metallic Modeling Pastes on Scrapbook.com.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. You know I’m all over those fluorescent colours, and your finish is awesome. Well done, Karenliz!!! And I love your idea of starting tiny when the muse isn’t calling you – a perfect pick-me-up.
